She was confident, new
The rag
Furious, vulnerable
She sat thinking
crushed in awe :)
A friend came along
Showed her shimmering stars
a wonderful new world
The magic carpet ride
Then they fell
The self-pity pit
Narrow and deep
Why do they care?
They did.
Effects of the dark pit, reflections
a misery so powerful,
the engines had to roar again
The carpet soared high
through the dim-lit sky
The moonlit caves
"Open sesame" and voila!
there were glittering gems
Rich they were! Greedy-eyed.
Filled their pockets
Satisfied.
Turned back. Awaiting them?
Thieves?
There is no turning back.

why is there no context anymore? :)
And I am curious about what you think the context is about! :)
The context only restricts interpretation by any poor soul who has to read the rubbish. Why read my rubbish my way when it doesn't matter to anyone but me what I feel. This way at least there is some chance that my rubbish can be read somebody else's way
Stop being so mean to yourself. Why do u have to keep calling it rubbish, when it is all so very well written!
When there is a he and a she happily soaring together, I can think of only one thing :) My imagination is very narrow, atleast in this case. That is why you should still have the context. It'll help me broaden my perspective.
It might just be the opposite :)
hey...am not surprised to see this comment from Sandhya :) Stop calling it rubbish...dint know that your talents spans across poems as well..nice one..
Tried reading it many times. i guess i did not get the idea of the poem :)
@kiran - this poem was my very own little joke not meant to be understood :) maybe you would find some vague meaning if you didn't read it trying to figure out what i had in mind.
The context is love? That is how it will be read by most mortals. Either way it is not rubbish. Why is it labeled a pun?
@ anonymous. It is a personal pun. I am glad it is not rubbish. I have no problems whichever way it is read. Love is not the context although it is about similar emotions :)
